How We Pledge to Support People and the Environment

At BLT, we believe we contribute to our industry in a socially responsible way. Our equipment allows food technologists to conduct meaningful work as efficiently as possible (less resources, time, and energy). Product development activities consume materials, energy, and time. We know, in most cases, only a fraction of the product generated in development trials is usable. The philosophy behind our line of equipment is to "do as much as possible with as little as possible."

1.   Working directly with you to understand your sustainability needs and requirements

All our products are custom-manufactured to your specifications.  We are happy to consult with you to plan for, and implement your “green” requirements.

2.   Saving Energy

Use the manufacturing plant for production, not for R&D.  We can work with you to simulate plant conditions on a bench top level, or we can design a custom "mini plant" for your development activities.

Our designs are primarily all electric, which require less installation, time and money, and are generally more energy efficient than steam for small scale processing.

3. Controlling and Minimizing Waste

If reducing waste is an important part of your product development, our equipment allows for controlled and repeatable processing conditions. These conditions ensure you can make judicious use of your ingredients.

For example, our Development Scale Cooker/Agitator can process batches as small as 250 grams, and our Beverage Lab HTST Pasteurizer can process samples as small as 500 ml.
